Since its founding in 1883, Houghton Academy has based its entire educational program on a simple but profound conviction. We believe that nothing in creation can be properly examined or understood apart from an acknowledgment of the Creator's hand in it; that faith and learning are inseparable.
Today, as we look ahead to the next century, we’re encouraged to see God taking this educational philosophy not only to the counties of western New York but to the countries of the world.
The Academy's boarding program is geared for students aged 14 and up, primarily in grades 9 through 12. Younger applicants for boarding will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Our day school is open to all students in grades 7 through 12.

Acknowledgment
Prior to choosing Veracross, Houghton Academy used a popular, in-house school management suite with an online portal. Administrators felt that the "live data" model in Veracross--teachers, students and parents all accessing the same data--offered several advantages to our former model of periodic data uploads to our parent portal. Additionally, Veracross offered the advantage of an integrated admissions data mangagment system; our admissions office requires much more than the simple "forms management" functionality in our old system.
