International

International schools provide an education to expatriate children living in foreign communities. These schools are often started as non-profit organizations by embassies or corporations. Generally speaking, children whose parents are employed by an international business or organization attend these schools. However, it is not uncommon for local students to enroll in these schools as well.

English is the primary language of instruction in most schools. You will also find schools that instruct in other languages such as French and Russian. The prevailing curricula used by international schools are typically based on those used by the United States, United Kingdom or an international one like the IB Diploma Program.
