Veracross saved queries can be exported to replace data in a spreadsheet or database, which can then update visualizations that are connected to that data. In this session, we will look at how to create a visualizations and analytics dashboard from a Veracross Query export, as well as how to update the dashboard by exporting the query at regular intervals. Our example will cover exporting a query to Google Sheets and building visualizations in Google Data Studio.
Because saved queries can be used across Veracross instances, I will share a query that I use, along with the spreadsheet and self-updating Google Data Studio dashboard as a template package., We needed to create personalized documents for specific selections of students and store them in students’ records in Veracross (eg. Standardized Testing Reports and Learning Support Plans). We developed a solution to leverage queries in Veracross to export student data from a few clicks, generate documents in bulk using the exported data, as well as generating the veracross-mapping-file.csv to import and attach those generated files to students’ records in Axiom. This greatly increased the speed and accuracy at which we are able to generate documents for our students and store them in Axiom and/or share them with parents via the Parent Portal.
