Knowledge Management Specialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

Trainers occupy a key role in our growing knowledge management and training group. Overall responsibilities break down into three categories:

· Onsite and web-based training: Lead employee and client training sessions. Travel is required, particularly during the summer.

· Developing and testing training materials: Create and edit the materials you’ll use to educate our employees and customers.

· Facilitating knowledge base workflows: Add to our knowledge base and documentation.

To be successful in this dynamic role, you need to have a passion for teaching and learning, a keen mind for organizing and communicating complex information, developed business writing skills, and a strong work ethic.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

In-person and Web-based Training

· Internal training: Train new hires as part of our internal onboarding process in live and recorded sessions. This involves both straightforward product education as well imparting your own training skills (“train the trainers”).

· Client training: Travel onsite to schools for product training. Expect peak travel (up to 40 days) during the summer and limited travel the rest of the year. Manage the online learning experience of clients moving through our LMS.

Developing Training and Documentation Materials

· Record and edit product training videos and assessments. We use SnagIt and Camtasia.

· Create and edit documentation to accompany training materials.

Facilitating Knowledge Base Workflows

· Create knowledge base articles as cases are processed in Salesforce.

· Edit articles for style, tone, and grammar.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

· Strong business writing and communication skills, a good eye for editing, and enthusiasm for the Oxford comma.

· 3+ years of teaching or training experience.

· Intermediate knowledge of modern office-based software, e.g., Microsoft Office 365 or GSuite, and general comfort with technology and learning new software.

· Experience with Salesforce, Camtasia, and video production is a plus.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to travel both domestic and international, particularly up to 40 days during the summer (May-August).
