COMPANY OVERVIEW:

Veracross is a PE backed leading provider of a SaaS based School Information Systems (SIS) platform for Independent schools. Designed specifically to meet the unique needs of independent schools, Veracross combines the power of a truly integrated database with personalized, data-driven communication tools. To date we have configured and deployed our system at over 250 leading private K-12 schools in over 20 countries through a powerful, leveraged and elegant architecture unique in our industry.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Director of People will be responsible for building the human resources function to support the growth of our business across multiple locations. The role will be instrumental in developing the HR framework that is consistent with our values of Service, Humility and Excellence while also developing the HR infrastructure to allow us to scale. This includes leading an organization through significant change and growth and driving the development of the HR infrastructure including the implementation of a performance management system, establishing compliance programs, developing a continuous learning environment for employees and managers, creating compensation programs and overseeing the benefits administration. This role reports to the CEO and CFO and will be based in our Wakefield, MA office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure a top-notch employee experience in accordance to Veracross values.
  • Advising and influencing business leaders on organizational design, leadership development, employee engagement and retention, performance criteria and measurement, succession planning, talent reviews and change management.
  • Ensure cultural consistency as Veracross grows and scales and establish the HR infrastructure to manage through change and maintain trust and communication across all levels and functions.
  • Create learning and development programs to prepare employees for more significant responsibilities as the company grows and scales.
  • Drive a culture that embodies Veracross values, and that rewards, promotes and encourages high performance throughout the organization.
  • Ensure that the executive team has the "pulse of the company" in order to make proactive and effective organizational decisions.
  • Serve as a senior advisor to the executive team on all people related matters to ensure the company has the talent, processes/systems, and policies necessary to support our strategic and financial goals.
  • Build trust with employees across all layers of the organization and be an active listener and effective problem solver of people issues.
  • Develop and manage a competitive, contemporary compensation program by completing regular market analysis, designing pay structures, conducting cost analyses and effectively implementing improvements.
  • Focus on recruiting and hiring diverse candidates. Creating an inclusive culture that encourages and supports diversity of thought and rewards the implementation of creative solutions.
  • Strengthen our people analytics and utilize a data-driven approach to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions for employee performance, retention, and engagement.
  • Collaborate closely with the CFO to ensure HR compliance across all our offices.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role in human resources administration within the technology sector. Must have experience reporting to C-level executives.
  • Experience in small to midsize software companies with less than 500 employees in a growth pattern.
  • Experience in acquisition related activities including HR related diligence activities and post-acquisition integration of people, HR processes, benefits and systems (Change Management)
  • Experience building up an HR department from nothing or next to nothing and has proven their ability to work independently as a self-starter in a multi-site office arrangement.
  • Proven ability to excel in a role that is both strategic and hands on, people oriented and analytical.
  • Experience coaching managers and handling employee relations issues.
  • Experience creating or revamping a performance management system and providing the coaching or training to use it effectively.
  • Strong communication skills at an executive level. Able to influence and persuade from a business perspective.
  • Strong knowledge of benefit administration, compensation strategy, performance management, employee relations, and safety practices, and the ability to apply this information in a manner that is compliant with relevant employment law.
  • Experience in implementation of a HRIS platform.
  • Prior experience providing HR support within a multi-site office arrangement
  • A fit with our culture – someone that can be professional, down to earth, create trust, engaging, and likable
  • Work with legal counsel, manage all HR legal affairs (immigration process, employee relations, separation agreements, relocations, etc.).
  • Proactively stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments within HR area, constantly researching and recommending best practices as appropriate.
  • Manage and ensure a streamlined, well-organized on-boarding experience that provides a best-in-class introduction into Veracross for all new hires.
