The best school websites share a quiet quality: they’re easy to launch and easy to manage, no matter who’s behind them or how much technical experience they bring. A polished, professional site shouldn’t depend on having a developer on staff or hours of training.

High Point Christian Academy is proof of that. A faith-based school serving 1,007 students from preschool through 12th grade in High Point, North Carolina, they set out to launch a new Digistorm website that looked the part and was simple to run day to day. In this case study, Jennifer Lambert, Advancement and Engagement Administrator, shares how the project came together, and why “easy” turned out to be the word she kept coming back to.

Ease of use that fits a busy role

At many schools, the person managing the website is also responsible for a great deal more, and that’s true at High Point Christian Academy. Jennifer’s role spans social media, digital media, and website management. She also oversees an admissions department of two, school-wide communications, marketing, branding, and fundraising.

She’s also the first to say that web design isn’t her background, which is exactly why ease of use mattered so much from the start. For a school whose community expects polish, a platform that delivers a professional result without specialist skills makes all the difference.

Bringing everything under one umbrella

Interestingly, the school’s move to a Digistorm website wasn’t driven by a website that was failing them. Jennifer is candid that there weren’t any major pain points with their previous platform, but the change was motivated by the chance to bring everything together under one connected platform.

As a Veracross SIS customer, High Point Christian Academy saw the value in a website that lived within the same connected ecosystem as the rest of their school data. The website became the first piece they launched publicly in that ecosystem, going live in January 2025. For Jennifer, the partnership between Digistorm and Veracross made the decision straightforward and seamless.

A website that reflects who they are

High Point Christian Academy had refreshed its previous website navigation a few years earlier, so the project didn’t call for a sweeping overhaul. Jennifer rewrote content, updated photography, and made sure forms were accurate, so the bones were already in good shape, which kept their Digistorm website build focused. What mattered most to her wasn’t reinvention. It was authenticity.

We wanted our website to match who we are. It was important that families could feel who we really were through our website before they ever stepped on campus.

With branding guidelines and school colors already in place, choosing a Digistorm Foundations ready-made design that suited the school’s identity was a natural fit, and it meant the site was aligned with their mission and branding from day one.

Hands-on support that made the difference

For a one-person team, the implementation experience can make or break a website redesign.

Rather than being handed a content management system (CMS) and left to figure it out alone, she was paired with a dedicated Digistorm website implementation manager who guided her through the entire build, meeting with her every week and working through the project together.

What was really nice was having a team member who walked with us through the whole thing. We met weekly. It was basically, ‘here are your homework assignments,’ and then we’d meet, and anything I couldn’t figure out on my own, they would fix for me.

That rhythm of weekly check-ins, clear next steps, and real help on the hard parts meant Jennifer never felt stuck or out of her depth. She learned about the platform as she went, with support always one meeting away. The result was an implementation that, by her own measure, exceeded expectations: “The website development was incredibly easy. And for me to say something was easy, that’s a good thing.”

Ease of use that speaks for itself

Once the site was live, that same ease carried into day-to-day management. Jennifer describes the back end in terms that any busy administrator will appreciate.

For somebody who’s not a website designer, it’s a bit like the ‘for dummies’ concept, which is great. I’m sure if I were high-level in that area, I could take it even further. But I’ve been really happy with where we are. It looks very good. It doesn’t look like I don’t know what I’m doing.

Day to day, much of the site simply runs itself. The school’s social media posts feed straight into the website automatically, and Jennifer’s regular updates, such as job postings and the lunch menu, are quick to manage on her own with just a few clicks.

A clean, clear experience for families

High Point Christian Academy’s website is, above all, a tool for prospective families, and the response at launch told Jennifer she’d made the right call.

It’s a very clean, clear structure from a parent’s perspective. We heard from a lot of happy parents when we launched. They really liked the visibility and the ease of use.

The feedback was consistent: families found exactly what they needed with minimal effort, and without having to click around aimlessly.

Looking ahead

High Point Christian Academy is also implementing the Digistorm School App, extending that same philosophy of effortless access to its wider community.

In this day and age, everybody wants ease and access. Having to remember a URL, or log into an email, or go to the website just to click into the parent portal: the more steps we can save, the better. That was really the selling point for us.

Jennifer is also looking forward to leaning further into their Veracross integration, where automatic data syncing stands to remove manual updates from her plate entirely. That’s a meaningful win when you’re the only person managing the site.

For schools weighing a new website platform, her experience offers a clear takeaway. Community expectations at a private school run high, as they should, and what gave her confidence was knowing the outcome would meet them.

The high expectations were there, and the website development was incredibly easy. For me, that’s a really good thing.
