Role Summary:

The Financial Implementation and Services Practice Lead is responsible for leading VC Pay consulting at Veracross. First, this entails applying mastery of the VC Pay product and background according to standard accounting practices to lead successful client engagements. Second, this individual is responsible for continual monitoring and improvement of organizational process and documentation of the VC Pay function. Third,Financial Implementation and Services Practice Lead ensures successful VC Pay client engagements across all departments through project management oversight of ongoing VC Pay implementations.

WHAT IS VC PAY?

VC Pay simplifies tuition management and payment solutions at independent schools through:

  • Automatic Payout Reconciliation – summarized and itemized payout information by module (Admissions, Online Giving, Tuition Payments, etc.)
  • Saved Payment Accounts – allowing Veracross users to save ACH and credit card information to be used when making tuition, gift, and other payments
  • Payments Dashboard – Allowing for easy view of recent transactions across all departments
  • Auto Recurring Giving – allowing donors to set up automatic gifts to a school’s annual or capital campaign.

Job responsibilities:

Deliver direct VC Pay platform consulting and organizational change management to independent school business office. This consists of

  • Business office discovery: operations & workflow discovery
  • Platform transition options consulting: discovery-infused platform setup options presented, demoed, revised, and finally agreed upon
  • Alongside the school's implementation manager, develop VC Pay implementation project plans based off the VC Pay module configuration and use stories
  • Orchestrate successful business office change management, where tailored configurations are office-tested, revised, approved, and deployed
  • Business office workflow consulting: model and document the ways the school's business office will use VC Pay across their first operational year
  • Develop and orchestrate tailored VC Pay support handoffs
  • Respond to and handle any service quality issues or engagement-critical issues
  • Build and lead initiatives that evolve, improve, and grow the business
  • Ensure necessary processes and tools are implemented and being utilized appropriately across the team
  • Collaboration & Influencing – possess skills to effectively influence across different functions, business units, and leadership levels
  • Strategic Leadership – offer quality recommendations for problems that might not be fully identified, by understanding and analyzing issues and facts

Requirements:

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience
  • A solid understanding of the fundamental accounting equation; the general journal; the chart of accounts; general ledger reporting (balance sheet, trial balance, profit & loss statements); fiscal period and fiscal year closing; budgeting; reconciliations; and sub-ledger processing (e.g. accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash processing, purchases journal, fixed assets, cost accounting)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to include comfort with public speaking, presentation delivery, etc.
  • Above average financial and business acumen coupled with strong organizational skills
  • Experience in full-cycle service delivery and consulting services, ideally within the banking or payments industry
  • Ability to make complex decisions and recommendations under limited direction and using a high degree of initiative and independent judgement
  • Problem-solving skills with ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time

Preferred Qualifications for Consideration:

  • 5+ years of financial services industry experience and/or relevant consulting experience
  • Payments processing experience, including real-time transaction processing
  • Experience delivering software-based solutions to demanding, geographically diverse clients
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives in support of delivering new products and services to market
